You stroll into the fire
That’s where you’ll always be now
You couldn’t get me higher
And I promise you’ll be free now
You’re curled up in the corner
It gets harder to listen to what everybody’s saying about you now
You’ve hit off every mirror
But I can’t resurrect the days we have wasted now
But I’m fine, I’m fine, I don’t mind, I don’t mind
The cuts were there before you just helped to peel them open again
And once the air got in, got in there, got in there
I got a bullet proof heart that was kicked around this town
It’s just the city let me down
This city doesn’t feel like home to me
Maybe in the morning I’ll feel better again
This city doesn’t feel like home to me
Like home to me
There’s a cop on every corner
But they’re never there when you need one
And every street ‘round here has a story to tell
The poets painted on the wall look down on us in disgust
Cause they felt more shame and like you, just like you
We are not the same, we’re not the same, we’re not the same no
This city doesn’t feel like home to me
Like home to me
They don’t lock their doors around here
They get kicked in anyway
They don’t beat their heads to beat the rest
To find a life that they know best
They crawl back in the corner
They just crawl back into line
And I get stupid when I smoke
I always laugh at all your jokes
You’ve a funny way of showing me
You think of me the most
Can I stay with you forever?
Could I sleep upon your roads?
Would you shelter me when the snow comes?
And in the summer share your gold
This city doesn’t feel like home to me
Maybe in the morning I’ll feel better again.

Incredible album. I'm so happy how "Little Green Cars" evolved into Soda Blonde, and extremely pleased that Faye O'Rourke is at the forefront of vocals with her fantastic, captivating voice. Such a moving album, and the underlying themes really presenting a sort of isolation and general feeling of being upset in a relationship, in my interpretation. It's uncanny just how good Actors is at emulating that Post-Punk synth sound from my younger days.
Each listen just gets better and better. I feel slightly ashamed for not having heard this album until a few short days ago. modestwriggles

Obscura Somnia for a long time has been a song of serene hope for me. For me it is one of their best. It's about time they re-record it in a longer version. en_music
