"The song was written after a conversation I had with my mother late one night. She had just lost her 3 best friends that year, all to cancer.
We talked about the hopelessness of watching it happen and about being left behind.
As we grow up we go through a lot with our friends, birthdays, weddings, the births of our children, hard times, good times and then inevitably death. The cruel cyclical nature of life and the indiscriminate nature of cancer" - Fiachra Treacy .
lyrics
You called me over
Said you were under
Said that your science
Pulled you asunder
But I am not your answer
You are not my answer
Give me your skin and
I’ll be your cancer
Said you were numb and
You’d lost your hunger
Said all your shipwrecks
Had pulled you under
But I am not your answer
You are not my answer
Said you were willing to take your chances
Well lets not talk about that
Maybe it will just go away
You’re worried about your friends
All of them seem to fall away
You said look now you’ll be fine without me
You’ll suffer no doubt without me
You’ll be my loss I’ll carry the cross
You’ll be the thoughts that can’t be
Chased by the pills or powder
Chased till my final hour
There’s nothing to change familiar strange
Shadowed beneath your tower
There’s nothing to do about this
You’ve broken the frame that bound this
You’re calling the shots controlling the plot
I just run along beside this
If I could get through one minute
Without you appearing in it
A picture of you as someone I knew
An old friend that pays a visit
Well lets not talk about that
Maybe it will just go away
You’re worried about your friends
All of them seem to fall away
And if we talk about that
What’s there left to say anyway
I’m worried about my friends
All of them seem to fall away.

Wonderful to see Irish musicians putting out something as fresh as this, even if Bitch Falcon's influences are front and centre. The album is a fantastic mix of shoegaze and grunge (and even dream pop if I may be so bold), and it all comes together in one tight, thoroughly enjoyable package. derringerhk

Incredible album. I'm so happy how "Little Green Cars" evolved into Soda Blonde, and extremely pleased that Faye O'Rourke is at the forefront of vocals with her fantastic, captivating voice. Such a moving album, and the underlying themes really presenting a sort of isolation and general feeling of being upset in a relationship, in my interpretation. Why do I love this record? it has a haunting sound with a destination. The vocals are very sweet and the riffs hook you in . The songs have a great momentem they begin at once place then end some other place and don't go in a circle . if that makes sense? jimmyfuc
