In society there seems to be a lack of sympathy towards addicts, particularly those on the margins of society. The song tells the story of the hopeless cyclical nature of addiction.
We have framed the song with a euphoric upbeat sound to try and disguise it as a love song. There is an effort to highlight the strength of addiction and compare it with the helpless feeling of falling in love and losing control- something everyone can sympathise with.
lyrics
You know
You got me where you want me
You know
You corrupt my bloodstream
You mean everything to me
I let the world burn around me
All the love I can’t forget
My dirty hands are all I’ve left
In a parallel of time
I’d be yours
You'd still be mine
In the contents of my veins
There's a place where you remain
Take me down where you go
Yeah Yeah Yeah
Take me down where you go
Yeah Yeah Yeah
Take me down where you go
Yeah Yeah Yeah
Take me down where you go I go
I know
You got me where you want me
I know
You corrupt my bloodstream
I run away to show I care
You arrive and I’ll be there
I turn to you to numb the pain
A thousand thoughts without a frame
You're the devil in my mind
The only answer I could find
You're the driver at the wheel
My Addiction
All I feel
Take me down where you go
Yeah Yeah Yeah
Take me down where you go
Yeah Yeah Yeah
Take me down where you go
Yeah Yeah Yeah
Take me down where you go I go

It's uncanny just how good Actors is at emulating that Post-Punk synth sound from my younger days.
Each listen just gets better and better. I feel slightly ashamed for not having heard this album until a few short days ago. modestwriggles
